As Senior Graphic Designer at Union & Fifth, I am constantly creating eye-catching content for the website, designing printed materials handed out at events, and whipping out swoon-worthy graphics for social media that reflect our company's unique aesthetic.
Here is a small sample of graphic design work I've done for the brand – all of which have been used and sent to our email list and those subscribed to Union & Fifth on social media.
As Senior Graphic Designer at Union & Fifth, I was given the task to create all the signage and visuals present at their exclusive pop-up shop in Walnut Creek, California. From tote bags to 'Do Not Enter' signs, each creative piece I designed portrayed the brands aesthetic.
While the content is continually changing, using the brands guidelines carefully and consistently has been the key role to keeping the design flow smooth throughout the process of all these printed materials. I've been able to apply these company standards on all the materials I have produced for the store, keeping it on-brand to our e-commerce site.
Being Lead Creative has given me the opportunity to work closely with our creative team. Since all of our products are donated designer pieces, we need have a quick turnaround for creative content because we never really have these products for long. Often times, this involves working side-by-side in the studio with our photographer and retoucher to make sure I get the exact shot and look I am going for.
I've put together samples of my work in product and fashion styling – all of which have been used and sent out to our email audience and those subscribed to Union & Fifth on social media.
I worked with the East Coast based nonprofit foundation Achieve on creative for their 10th Anniversary Fundraiser. I had full creative control on every piece present at the event and mailed to the attendees. From the save-the-dates, dinner menu, and to the Wall of Doors (an installation that displayed the donor names and donation amount on individual cards pinned to a wall) we worked together to create cohesive and informational pieces for their event while keeping them entertaining for the guests.

STUDENT PROJECT
Create an ad campaign for a Design Within Reach that displays theirunique features and create a series of posters, as well as a promotional website, that shows consumers why their brand is a step above their competitors. Website must contain 5 sub pages.
APPROACH
Design Within Reach is known for their broad selection of designer furniture and home decor. They showoff not only the products, but give credit to the designers behind them. My Ad Campaign exhibits the thought process behind some of their pieces by providing handrawn sketches from the designers and a background on their career.
For the past 4 years, I've been given the opportunity to design Jazz and Symphonic Band Concert Posters for the College of San Mateo. Mike Galisatus and Craig Bryant, who are the conductors of the Jazz and Symphonic bands at CSM, have each given me the creative freedom every season to design and create the concept for each poster.
STUDENT PROJECT
Create a promotional book for Domtar's paperline 'Cougar'. Include personalized cards which show each of the paper weights and colors in that paperline. Lastly, design a poster that would be used to advertise the paperline.
APPROACH
I wanted to create a portable pocket guide that people could bring with them and use as reference when they are on-the-go. It’s filled with useful charts and information about picking up ‘cougar’ women. The topic of the book is light-hearted and daring, so I kept the colors vibrant to compliment the information that it contains.
STUDENT PROJECT
Redesign a company logo and create promotional items that promote their service in a way which will make their brand stand out amongst its competitors. Also, create a booklet that talks about the company’s history and what they are known for.
APPROACH
I chose to design for a local record store that I live by called 1234 GO! Records. Unlike larger well-known music stores, they cater to punk music and have a variety of vinyl records and cassette tapes which feature punk artists. I used this unique quality about them to make promotional material which reflects their attitude and aesthetic. Using brightly colored paper and old-fashioned photo copying machines, I was able to give off an underground punk vibe by playing with texture and colors.
STUDENT PROJECT
Produce and comp a variety of packaging solutions for a drug store. Whether it is food or product, the line must be easy for the viewer to figure out at a glance without thinking too hard about. Must design a new brand that will extend to other parts of the company easily.
APPROACH
My goal is to create a new identity for Rite Aid and make the brand have a stronger, clear, and more memorable look. I would also like to help make the brand more universal by creating new product lines which people could buy only from their stores.
STUDENT PROJECT
Choosing a company that doesn’t already have a skincare line, create a product line and eye-catching display that best represent the company’s aesthetic but is also appealing to a wide audience of people who may want to purchase the skincare line.
APPROACH
I created an interactive poster and iPhone app where users can report where Chrome is known for their durable and long-lasting bags that many bicyclists use when they are commuting. My idea is to create a skincare line that will be easy for them to find in their bags when they are on-the-go, unisex in appearance, and also guarantees to adapt to their lifestyle by being more rugged and resilient then their competitors.
